Insight: Prisons and Correctional Service Commission Structure
This section establishes a balanced oversight body for Zimbabwe's prison system, combining both civilian and experienced correctional perspectives. The Commission's composition requirements ensure diverse expertise while maintaining independence from the service it oversees. By mandating that at least half the members must have no history with the prison service, while still requiring experienced correctional leadership input, the Constitution creates a system of checks and balances in prison administration.
