Insight: Food Security in Zimbabwe's Constitution

This provision recognizes food as a fundamental security issue, going beyond mere production to include education, storage, and reserves. It establishes a proactive governmental responsibility to build resilience against drought and famine—critical for a country that has experienced severe food shortages. Rather than simply promising food aid, it emphasizes sustainable self-sufficiency through education and infrastructure development.
